2013 Senior Volunteer Award Ceremony

The Culture to Culture Foundation-sponsored Senior Volunteer Awards for outstanding local volunteers was held in the Pleasant Hill Senior Center in September.

More than 250 members of the community attended the event to show their support and appreciation of these volunteers.

The Senior Volunteer Award judges included:

  • Alameda County Superior Court Judge Stuart Hing
  • Dolores Fox Ciardelli, managing editor of the Danville Express,
  • Barbara Smith,  retired Superior Court Judge of Contra Costa County
  • Joyce Cram, retired Superior Court Judge of Contra Costa County

Award presenters included:

  • state Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan,
  • Contra Costa County Supervisor Candace Andersen,
  • Contra Costa County Supervisor Karen Mitchoff,
  • San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson
  • Danville Mayor Newell Arnerich.

Culture to Culture Senior Award sponsors included:

2013 Senior Volunteer Award Now Accepting Nominations

The Senior Volunteer Awards recognize current senior volunteers (55 and older) who have provided extraordinary voluntary service within Contra Costa County.   We accept nominations for volunteer teams  as well  as individual  nominations.     By spotlighting these seniors, Culture to Culture Foundation hopes to inspire others to share their time and talents.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on September 22, 2013 at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center.

The winners will receive $250.00

HOW TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION

Each nominator can only submit one nomination

  • The nominee must be nominated by another individual
  • Nominator must describe the individual nominee's or team nominee's volunteer activities in 500 words or less
  • The write-up must include nominee's age(s), address, telephone, nature of the volunteer work in terms of length, hours, its significance and impact
  • Nominator must include his or her contact information
  • All nominations must be mailed to: senioraward2013@culturetoculture.org
  • NOMINATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2013
