2015 API Community Mental Illness Anti-stigma Video Contest Information

Create a One-Minute video to help combat the stigma of mental illness in Asian and Pacific Islander (API)  American communities.

Be creative! Videos may focus on API in general or a specific API community. They can also focus on a certain age or diversity group within the API community or any specific aspect of the problem of stigma (e.g., fear, discrimination, changing cultural values, normalizing mental illness, etc.). Videos may be in English or an Asian language or both.

Winning videos will be combined into one piece and made available free-of-charge to community organizations for educational purposes.

Contest is open to Master of Social Work (MSW) students in California. Feel free to download and share the 2015 Video Contest flyer with anyone who may be interested.

Rules and guidelines

Maximum length: 60 seconds

Title & credits: Include one frame with title of video at the beginning and one frame with all credits at the end of the video.

Video format: mp4 with 1080p resolution

Video directors/producers and actors in winning videos will be required to sign releases giving sponsors the right to use and distribute the videos for mental health educational purposes.

Submit by 5 pm, April 15, 2015
