Culture to Culture Foundation celebrated its 15th anniversary on October 16, 2016 at\u00a0Danville's Oak Hill Park. More than 120 elected officials, community leaders, donors, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers\u00a0enjoyed an afternoon of inspired speeches, entertaining fashion show, good food, and learned\u00a0about many past and present C to C projects and programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

      Highlights of the event included remarks from Candace Andersen, Contra Costa County\u00a0Supervisor; Jim Morris, Superintendent of the Fremont Unified School District; Judge Stuart Hing,\u00a0Alameda Superior Court Judge; Jana Sczerputowski, President of Your Social Marketer, Inc. and Professor\u00a0Arthur L. Reingold, Professor and Head of Epidemiology, UC Berkeley.<\/p>\n

      A slideshow chronicling C to C's past and present programs were shown. In addition, the audience enjoyed\u00a0five winning videos from the state-wide Directing Change video contest. These videos showcased first\u00a0place winners from C to C sponsored \"Through the Lens of Culture\" category, as well as local winners\u00a0from Directing Change's other categories.<\/p>\n

      Chia-Chia Chien, Founder of C to C, presented certificates to F. Michael Chua and Jingyun Yao from CSU East Bay and Brendan Lau from Monte Vista High School\u00a0for winning the 2016 Culture to Culture Scholarships. Former C to C Scholarship\u00a0winners Amy Szeto and Wing Tse gave two very inspiring speeches reflecting on how the scholarship\u00a0helped them and now they help\u00a0others.<\/p>\n

      Many lucky members of the audience received prizes from a drawing. Prizes were donated by\u00a0Directing Change, Town of Danville, and Dr. Aimin Liu, D.D.S. A rousing \"fashion show\" featuring C to C supporters and donors who modeled historical fashions\u00a0from various Chinese dynasties, was a big crowd pleaser. \u00a0Equally welcomed was a multi-course Chinese dinner served\u00a0during the reception. Everyone had a good time at the celebration and looked forward to the next 15 years.<\/p>\n
