C2C to Sponsor Health and Financial Lectures in April<\/h2>\n

C to C will be sponsoring two lectures in April. The first one is on health, specifically on heart and stroke. Speaker is Dr. Xinge Hu, Cardiology, MD, PhD.\u00a0 Date is Thursday, April 16, from 11 am to 1 pm. Free admission, registration is required. A healthy lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n

Another lecture is \"Key Financial Strategies for Seniors\", guest speaker is Arlene K. Mose, CPA. Date is April 30, from 11 am to 1 pm. Free admission, registration is required and lunch will be provided after the presentation. A flyer for this event is below.<\/p>\n

C2C at the Cultural Diversity Celebration at \"Spring into Spring\"<\/h2>\n

C to C was honored to be in partnership with the Diversity Consciousness Committee (DCC) at Rossmoor in \u201cSpring Into Spring\u201d event on 3-11. In additional to speakers and music, Chia-Chia Chien led the group in doing Luk Tung Kuen, the Chinese exercise that Chia-Chia teaches at the Danville Senior Center. The event was featured at the local newspaper Rossmoor News.<\/p>\n

C2C to Co-Sponsor Event on Culturally Diverse Perspective on Mental Health<\/h2>\n
\n

Diversity Consciousness and Culture to Culture will jointly sponsor an event that will provide a culturally diverse perspective on mental health, disparities in care, and the resources available to our community. <\/em>The event will take place on Thursday, May 23 from 2:00-3:30<\/strong> in the Fireside Lounge, Gateway at Rossmoor.<\/p>\n

Featured speakers will include Dr. Stanley Sue<\/strong>, clinical psychologist; Gigi Crowder<\/strong>, Executive Director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Contra Costa; and Grace Liu<\/strong> of the Counseling Center of Rossmoor as well as several members of the Rossmoor Community. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions following the panel presentation. Refreshments will be provided by Ming Chen of Charles Schwab. A resource table will provide information on some of the mental health services available in Contra Costa County.<\/p>\n

C2C Sponsored Luk Tung Kuen Class Get-togethers<\/h2>\n
\n

Since 2007, Culture to Culture Foundation provided enrichment classes<\/a> for seniors to promote physical and mental health through the Town of Danville. One popular class is Luk Tung Kuen, an easy to follow exercise program that involves every part of the body to promote blood circulation and strengthen muscles. Chia-Chia Chien, C to C Founder, further facilitates social bonds and interactions between participants by organizing get-togethers such as lunches at local restaurants and pot-luck parties. The most recent gathering was at a local Chinese restaurant where C to C treated the entire class to a delicious lunch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
