Culture to Culture Foundation is sponsoring the new Through the Lens of Culture category in Directing Change's film contest. C to C is providing cash prizes for this category and will participate as judges as well.
Through the Lens of Culture is one of three categories in the 2016 contest. By submitting a 60-seconds film in this category, young film makers are encouraged to explore the topics of suicide prevention and mental health through the lens of a particular culture.

Culture to Culture founder Chia-Chia Chien was selected and recognized by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) as a member of the Social Work Pioneers. NASW is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. NASW Pioneers are social workers who have explored new territories and built outposts for human services on many frontiers. Each has made an important contribution to the social work profession and to social policies through service, teaching, writing, research, program development, administration, or legislation. Chia-Chia was presented with this certificate.

Culture to Culture Foundation and its founder Chia-Chia Chien were honored on December 20, 2016 by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors with its 2016 Chair of the Board Award. The award is given to individuals or organizations who exemplify the very best in public service and dedication to the county's mission, vision and values. The award was presented to Chia-Chia at a ceremony by the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, District II Supervisor Candace Andersen.
